Today has been the saddest day that I have had in a long time. Bandit, my dog of 17 years was put to sleep. I knew it was a long time coming, but I was hoping that I would have longer. I can remember picking him out at the pet store. I just wish I had had a chance to say goodbye.

I'm sorry you lost your dog. I haven't lost a pet in a while, but it always hurts. My kitty is 15 and I'll be upset when he finally has to be put down.
