i feel as though im tumbling down. its as though my stress was a snowball that just grew and grew as i continued to go down. causes for it? not so sure. what i do know is that everything lately has either been pissing me off or just bringing me down. mind you, i do have a few things that keep me grounded (in a way), a few things that do make me

It's okay to feel the way you do, because it shows that you care. The fact that you're being critical about yourself shows that you always strive for success and to improve. But remember what I said in class, if you are going to contrast your history of success with others, you have to compare it fairly.
You got 2 internship positions this summer, that alone is amazing. It's difficult to just get one.
You were one of the top 3 chosen designers for the Schulich Pull quote (and you got $300 out of it)
You have strong aesthetic values and a design system that is consistent and appealing. Those are certain things many individuals lack.
Honestly when you told me how you were feeling bummed lately I was surprised. Last week I was talking to a friend because I was feeling inadequate as a designer and how I probably don't even belong to the program. I used you as an example, and I say this as an observer and not as a friend (so no biases), but I really envied your style and how driven you can be to do well. As I was telling my friend, "I wish I could be like cassandra, and then I'll be well off". No lie. =P
You have passion and a drive, that is something you should credit yourself for.
Pace yourself, don't rush it. I know you have big dreams for the future and perhaps an ideal concept of where you would like to be as a designer and success wise, but do not forget, you're still a student too and haven't entered the real world yet. Its not a condescending statement, but everyone has to start somewhere. From where you stand, you're perfectly on track. A job is a job, but do not forget that you DO possess the skills required to get started, and anything else you will learn and gain through experience, trail and error and any other obstacles that will challenge you in a nurturing manner.
Not everyone gets an amazing break their first time around. But the thing is, you can be the engine that could, and think to yourself, "I think I can, I think I can"...
OR
You can kick that little engine in the butt and declare, "I KNOW I CAN, so TAKE THAT!" =P
Cause hunnie, you are far from being derailed. You're right on track so keep on blowing...steam that is. Get it...blowing steam...ranting/venting...engines...play on words with blowing which is your favourite hobby...
*cassie thinks: "okay michee..you can stop now*
*michee looks down to the floor...*
But ANYHOO.....
I know this specific issue perhaps isn't the only thing troubling you, but I thought I could shed some perspective based on what I know thus far. So to leave off, a bit of ending advice in response to your blog blurbies:
Italicized line #1: why do you put up with so much?
Because you are a kind hearted individual and that isn't a bad thing, it is why so many people love you.
Italicized lines #2-3: stop bringing yourself down. stop comparing yourself to everyone else.
When people tell you to 'stop comparing yourself to others,' by all means, you're free to do so..it is simply impossible not to compare ourselves in all aspects of life...however its a matter of being 'fair' to yourself. Be constructive and not demoting, allow yourself to have a range of perspectives and to not focus primarily on one issue...its what causes people to stress. Everyone is guilty on that one, but take the time to step back and gain some insight on the whole situation.
And most of all it's not a race but a marathon when it comes to reaching your goals. The road is long, but be patient and good things will come your way.
=)
and one last thing:
*michee gives cassie a big hug*
* then she steals all the asterisks used in this message*
muahaha
