Awesome Show

So I wanted to save this little bit for its own post. I drove to Iowa City Sunday night to see Nickel Creek and it was so so great. I really think the last concert of anyone that I saw was when they were at Wake last year, which is kinda sad... but i guess it made it that much better to go to a show this weekend.
The venue was very cool - The Main Lounge in the Iowa Memorial Union at U of Iowa. A ballroom-type room with chandeliers and carpeting, it had surprisingly decent acoustics and made for a very intimate setting.
They played a really great set, peppered with funny stories and Chris and Sarah bickering and making fun of each other. Chris made fun of the White Stripes twice, which I thought was hillarious. I'm hoping to get a hold of the setlist at some point. They played a new version of A Lighthouse's Tale that was pretty cool, but I think I'm partial to the old one. They closed with The Fox, which never ceases to completely rock with they play it live. They added a new part where Sarah sings in the middle, and then Chris does Subterranean Homesick Blues after her. Awesome. The did the encore the same way they did at Wake last year, with a completely acoustic set, no mics or amps, but with different songs. All in all, a great time, and well worth the 5 hour roundtrip drive. :-)
