My new drum just arrived, and I couldn't be happier! It's deep and rich, and solidly made, with an extremely high quality skin. (Admittedly, it's goat. The only calfskin drums I found were something like 44 inches across...) If I had realized they were selling instruments from Mideast Manufacturing, I would never have bought from them, and of course, now that I know, I'll be suspicious and cautious of the finish, since I've had horrible experiences with that in the past. Still, it looks and sounds 100% better than anything I've bought (or sold) from them in the past, and I think that my luck has indeed held through.
