I have been thinking a little about the whole solos business and it strikes me that from what we have been told on the show at home Blaine feels like he isn't accepted and that the attention he receives from his Dad has an ulterior motive. At his old school he was bullied, and when he tried to go to an adult about it he was ignored. So now he's at Dalton and people are paying attention to him not because he is gay but because he is talented...and those people (his peers) are giving him positive attention in spades - who wouldn't suck that up like a dry old sponge? Who wouldn't milk that for all it was worth?
As for the Warblers - Blaine is a good singer and a gifted performer - he sells his numbers well and balances the staid uniformity of the blazers. They would be silly not to use him. Also it strikes me that the Warblers (on the show) like Blaine. They generally seem to respond positively to him. So they give him the solos - no suprise there.
