I read the post you linked to, and wow was I angry and upset, and then I came in here and read, and spent the entire time nodding, and whispering "Yes!" (hopefully my coworker didn't hear me). And now I feel much, much better.
naderegen and I were discussing a bit this morning Kurt calling Blaine out on the solos, and how very obvious it is that Blaine had never noticed it was a problem. Not because he enjoys hogging the spotlight or is selfish or any of that, but simply because he enjoys what he does, and until someone steps up and points out that maybe it's not all roses and unicorns, then he notices. And then he does something about it. Because, Blaine is a good person. Nothing this show has given us has shown otherwise.
In our discussion I compared him to a puppy (oh, more Darren --> puppy comparisons). The puppy chews on the shoe not because he's intentionally out to do naughty things but because he enjoys it. He likes the taste and the feel and the accomplishment of chewing it all to bits. And when you walk in to find the puppy has chewed up your favorite shoe, puppy looks up at you and wags his tail happily going, "didn't I do an awesome job?". And then you smack puppy on the nose with a newspaper and puppy is all sad!eyed and kind of confused.... wait. Chewing on the shoe is bad? Well, heck. Give me a chew toy, then!
Yeah, just went way too far with that comparison...
Also, would you mind linking this post over in beyond_Dapper? It's the perfect kind of discussion for over there, and something I wanted to get into after OS.
