first of all, it is and was never a "rave." it was put together by the girls varsity basketball team (myself included) and it was "club-themed" with an excellent DJ and it is now officially cancelled and rescheduled for February 11th.
it was cancelled because Ms. Slattery had four teachers come up to her and say that students had been telling teachers they were afraid to go because everyone would be rollin on E when they were going and she could not provide a place for that to happen.
so thanks to those students, the whole thing was cancelled. hope this clears things up a bit..
Yeah, the dance is now tenatively themed "Jungle Fever," which is pimptastic. Slatts is a douche, and the Student Senate kids are already pissed. Madness, I tell you.
basically, people take E at dances to begin with, and this would give people even more of an excuse
i was wicked looking forward to it, but i guess its all for the good because i would've had to change my working hours on saturday (and get beasted out by my manager because its not 2 weeks in advanced)
they should still have a dance, just not a "club-themed" dance (aka Rave).
I don't know about all of you, but I don't do E at dances. And I know half of the student body isn't stupid enough to actually do E at a school dance... and if you are ... I pity you. A club-themed dance shouldn't be a problem ... Maybe it should be a 'anti-drug' club-themed dance... I don't know, just a suggestion.
Anyways ... battle of the bands huh? I hope that falls through, because most of the time you know they never do... If you need any help with it, just holla back youngin' !!!
I agree with Mary. I pity anyone stupid enough to do that at a dance. take your drugged ass somewhere else maybe im the only one who is disturbed by this.. but whatever, it's just lame.
anyway, I haven't heard too much about this dance until now acctually. it sounds alright. Battle of the bands sounds like a great idea though, that is pretty awesome, hopefully it works out.

I heard from a Bball chick that some of you were planning on approaching Guidance & asking it to be put back on.
Good luck sorting it all out; I bet it'd make a good amount of dough.
