So this is what I'm proposing...
What we do is this: it's simple really. I propose we drive around the world.
How do you do this, you ask? it's simple really. All we have to do is drive to Homer, AK; rent a ferry to drop us off at the closest, large populated area in russia so that we can access roads that lead to Europe. Once in Europe, either Portugal or Englad, we will pay someone to take our car back as well as us on a barge. And therefore we will have driven around the world.
We estimated driving around the world at about 45 days of travel, from Illinois to Illinois, going eternally west. It will cost us, roughly, 2472 USD in gasoline, or petrol for those of you british readers. If we could get someone to sponsor us for 100,000 USD (think of how famous everyone connected to this would become, hello! we're the first people *ever* to drive around the world) but I think we could make it back by documenting and editing all of the trip. I know for a fact that would be some amazing footage. It would be the time of my life and I would actually do it. For 5000 USD I would do it. But that doesn't give us much leway in renting a ferry... either way, I'm up for it.
4 people alternating driving, 6 hour shifts, we'd make excellent time. We'd definitely bring lots of bug spray, sun screen and foreign language dictionaries. Foreign Language Thesauri need not apply. I really don't see that as being too farfetched.
So this summer I'm either living/working in France or Alaska. France if I get the work permits and host family. Alaska if I don't...
