I suppose it would be too easy --if the band were a large part of the plot. But it's not, really. As for why he had his own flyer:

When I was in high school I had this bangin' hot ceramics teacher, Heather, and she was in a band (played keyboard). Anyway, we were talking one day and she had a flyer up on her corkboard next to a picture of her husband and it was for a show they were playing. 'Course, when she said I could come since it was close to the school I couldn't since I was 16 at the time, but it was a nice offer.

Anyway, I went to an art school and there were a lot of people in bands there, both students and teachers, and it wasn't uncommon for them to have one or more for promotion or just to keep for themselves.

Also, of course, there's this:
"‘Cedes," Kurt said with patience, "remember when I told you David was in a band? And he was the lead singer? Well... one of these has to be his band because beneath the flyer was a set-list!"

So the better question, I guess, would be, why wouldn't it be Dave's band? Why would he have someone else's set list?

And as an aside: There's nothing to get in trouble for, you know? They're not sneaking in, seeing as they're both 18.

Oh, okay...
I am not used to performers having their own flyers, but maybe that's just a region thing :)
Thanks for the explanation.

Well, I know people who collect set-lists, so it could be one from another time... was what my brain was thinking :D

But your explanations make a lot of sense :D

Oh, not that kind of trouble, just thought about some stuff going on with other guests or so.

Sorry for making all this assumptions :D
Thinking about other people's stories is the only creative outlet I have right now because my own Muse is on vacation :D

Ohh, yeah I noticed you weren't US-based. I base most of teacher!Dave on the very young teachers I'd had in high school. I've had more than most, considering the art school and the fact that teachers are kind of in and out in schools in Las Vegas.

As for the band aspect, I've been very into the indie music scene in both Las Vegas and Phoenix, AZ and, even though networking sites are big now, when you're small-time flyers are definitely still used for self-promotion.

Oh! With guests etc. Yeah, Idk why I didn't realize you coulda meant that. XD My bad.

But no, don't worry about it at all. :3 IT's fun talking about it.

I stayed in Florida for a while but none of my teachers there were very young, so your Dave is a real treat ;)

I learned something new again, thank you ;)
I mean, I go to college in Germany and I know there are a lot of bands here, too, but I seldom see flyers for them. A pity, actually. I love flyers.

Good to know I am not too... uh, what's the word? obnoxious?
:D

Hi all. Just to stick my oar in the water, I'm a muso as well, and it's totally standard for small indie type groups to have their own flyers about. You usually have to do a lot of the promotions yourself as the venues - the small one's - often don't or aren't great at it plus you try to get as many people (friends family neighbors acquaintances random strangers at the bus-stop) to come along so that the venue will think you can draw a crowd and they'll have you back. Well, that's how it is in Australia...

Loving this so much Tess and Gleekilicious <3 <3 <3.
I note that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Kurt is a canny operator. Bless.
