Alternate Fridays off are (still) good.
With some of my more immediate "to do" items completed, I can actually sit still and just relax. Breathe. So, I lit a lavender candle, some strawberry incense, and cued music appropriate to the occasion.
Ambience being what it is, I'm also tempted to turn on my new desk lamp. It's a Victorian reproduction with wine colored shade and fringe. I scooped it up at Smithville the weekend before last. That, and another lamp, a green tulip shade with the swan neck and a dark bronze "leaf" base.
Total cost of both lamps? $38. (Indo-European cultural renaissance isn't the only thing going for Smithville.)
I have some missive writing to catch up on as well.
And my shipment of Floquil primer just arrived. Doesn't get you off, noted. But as a budding miniature painter, it's a sqeee moment of sorts.
Today is a day of quiet reprieve from all my preoccupations. That's how I want to remember it, hence the post for posterity.
