Well, thanks to Mina (the cat, not the person), I'm operating on just about zilcho sleep. I should be a real treat to talk to around 3:00 PM today.
For posterity, I'll say that this goes down as one of the more enjoyable weekends I've experienced in a while. Highlights include:
- Bone Church on Friday night. Lots of nice people milling about there, including
zomb13, who was kind enough to introduce himself and welcome me to the club, as well as
ladyligeia and
missionofmercy (who caught my eye wearing an Asmodeus X* shirt). Bone Church offers a great mix of musical eras and genres and an interesting layout. I'll be back.
(* -Be sure to catch
Asmodeus X this friday-see their MySpace flyer for details)
Alas, I didn't get my
Havok fix this weekend because of previous plans but I'll remedy that soon enough.
-
6necro6girl6, bless 'er, introduced us to
Star Pizza. There we also met with good friends
komodokat,
on_tha_fritz,
vivid_dream and
halo_ov_fire. Mighty good pizza, that was.
- We then drove over to Nan's and let our inner geeks off the leash.
- Enjoyed an overdue viewing of Murder on the Orient Express. What a stunning, atmospheric film. I'm glad Agatha Christie was able to see it before she died.
- A rainy day jaunt over to Texas Art Supply. I've been meaning to introduce
halo_ov_fire to TAS for a while now, so we drove over together and, yea and verily, did we lust for many artistic treasures therein.
- After some deliberation over price, I purchased a illuminated magnifying desk lens, the kind for close up work that you attach to drafting tables and the like. This desperately needed work aid now helps me paint miniatures in spite of my iffy eyesight. I've designs to use it for runic Work as well.
And it rained and rained and rained yesterday. It's cold and grey again today. Lovely. San Francisco lovely.
