First of all, let me just say....
THAT I AM A NEW LEASE-HOLDER AT AN APARTMENT BUILDING! Woot and such. It is very close to where I live now, a little older, but very clean and well-priced. In other words, practically perfect. I will be living RIGHT across from my managers (who are married and apparently quite Christian..."Christ is the Center of this House" etc), but I don't plan on being too loud or anything, so I hope it won't be a big deal. A touch nervous...but the apartment was so worth it.
Also, can I just say, once again, that I love my family? First of all, when my mom and I have our good moments, they are GOOD moments. And recently, we have just been having a lot of 'em. Sweet deal, no? We don't argue, she wants to have dinner with me (and me her), we see each other at work, I call her more often, send her emails...it's all around just a great deal. My grandparents are also something else. I called them to let them know that I had a new job and new apartment (a pretty busy week all-around, don't you agree?) and they couldn't have been more suportive. Awwww *warms heart. Especially my grandma...she thanked me profusely for calling her, like it was some huge chore or something. Poor lonely grandparents....gotta make sure to keep up the calling.
But really, not to play favorites, but I think I will always love my dad in a special way. First of all, he made it quite clear that he WANTS to help me move, and that if I want any of their old furniture (a couch and a table, for example), he WANTS me to have them. He also made it quite clear that if I need to store some stuff at home during the transition, that would be fine too. But finally, and this is what I love about him most of all, he told me to look up this year's dorm rates so that my current finances would be up-to-date. First of all, for those of you that don't know, my parents' and my agreement is that while I am an undergrad, I can use "dorm money" to live in an apartment so long as I keep down one small job and good grades. Way good deal. So, although it is completely unecessary, my dad wants to make sure that everything is updated and that I getting a fair deal on my "income." It is almost too much... I might just tell him that the rates haven't changed even if they have. I don't NEED any extra money...I'll probably just spend it on whirly-ma-bobs and doo-dads anyway, so they should keep it. But nevertheless, that is why I will always have a special place for him in my heart, because he just thinks of everything.
Phew, but I have a midterm tomorrow, so I need to study now! And I'm off!
