-CHAPTER 7-

“So… I imagine that you’re family owns some kind of multi-million dollar company or something?” I asked or rather said in a matter-of-fact tone.  Junsu seemed surprised anyways.

“Yeah!  How did you know?!” he asked, looking at me with big surprised eyes.

Junsu is really innocent, I thought.  Then, I laughed, imagining him saying the same thing to a stranger on the street who asks him the same question.

“Because I’m smart” I said as a joke “so what kind of company does your family own?” I asked.

“Us?  Um, we own a toy company.  It’s the current leading brand!” he says with a little bit of pride.  Toy company?  It suits Junsu’s image quite well.

A little later, Changmin got dropped off at his house.  It wasn’t anything big like in those dramas, but it was quite humble anyways.

“See you guys tomorrow!” Changmin shouted before running into his house, probably to study for that test we made him not study for.

“Junsu, what is the address of your friend?” the driver asked, which surprised me because in dramas they usually called the CEO-to-be “sir” or “young master” or whatever other honorific words they could come up with.

I told the driver my address.

“Hey Junsu, not that I’m saying that it’s bad or anything but , how come you’re driver doesn’t call you sir?” I asked in a whisper to Junsu’s ears.

“Oh, that’s because it’s no fun” Junsu said with a bright smile “you can’t run a toy company and be all adult-ish all the time” he said and laughed.

Eheheh, cute.

Then there was a moment of silence; we talked a lot today.  To make it less awkward I decided to look outside the window.

The city at night was quite a view.  There were lights shining everywhere; circulation lights, store signs, night stalls…

Suddenly, I noticed something strange on the sidewalk of the opposite street.  There were two people struggling, one man and one woman.  The man seemed to be in a position of power.

“Mr. Driver, please stop the car!” I shouted.  Having eight sisters, I developed a natural reflex to defend them (some of them.  I have a few sisters who are quite tough) against danger or bullies.

“What’s wrong Jaejoong?” Junsu asked me and I pointed at the violent scene.  He gasped.

“We have to help her” I said.  There was nobody else around except us.

“Oh my god, what do we do?  This is really dangerous!  I’ll call the police!” Junsu said in a state of panic.  The driver stopped the car on the side of the road.

The man was now pulling the girl with him.

“Mr. Driver, could you help me in giving her some help?” I asked, but when the driver turned around, I knew that it was impossible; he was but a weak looking old man.

“Never mind, Junsu, you stay here!” I ordered and got out of the car.  The girl’s screams could be heard.

“Help me!!! Ahhh!!” she shrieked, gradually getting pulled away by the aggressor.

“Hey you there!  Stop!” I said, running towards the two people.  When they heard me, the man turned around, let go of the girl, and stared dead into my eyes.  I stopped in my tracks.  Looking at me up and down to judge if I was a threat, he pulled out a switchblade and snickered.  Guess he doesn’t think I’m much of a threat then, does he?  That’s good…

As he took a few steps towards me, I tried remembering everything I learned in karate class these past years.  I took a defensive posture.  It didn’t seem to impress him and he just kept taking gradual steps towards me menacingly.

“Alright Jaejoong, get rid of the knife first, get rid of the knife” I thought and braced myself.  If he was going to use the knife first, dodge and get his knife hand.  If he uses any other part of his body to attack, twist it.  Have to do this right.

“Jaejoong be careful!” Junsu yelled from the sidelines.  I’m glad that his driver was holding him back or else the situation could be a lot more dangerous.  Not that it isn’t dangerous enough already.

I waited for the person to attack, but he seemed to wait for me to make the first move.  Unfortunately for him, there is no way that I’m going to attack first.  Karate fails at teaching you how to attack; it’s mainly defence.  I had to taunt him to attack me first or at least delay this until the police arrive.

“So, are you going to attack me or are you waiting for me to die of aging?” I taunted.  If the situation wasn’t this serious, I would have laughed at this.

“Shut up fucker, I don’t think you know you’re position.  Another words from you and I’ll kill you” he hissed.

“Loser” I said and prepared myself like never before.

He dashed and surprisingly, he decided to launch one of those stomach kicks at me.  I dodged it, but chained his movement with a stab which, I thankfully again, dodged.  I backed off.

“This guy really isn’t afraid to kill me” I thought “I guess I can only fight dirty now”

Then, I thought about all those “forbidden” moves that the teacher told us never to used unless truly in danger.  They were nothing spectacular, but the teacher told us that striking sensitive or weak spots in a human would definitely render the person unable to fight.

“Still want to play, punk?” he said with a dangerous and vicious smile.  I took in a deep breath.

“Why?  Don’t have any friends to play with, loser?”

That broke his patience.  He came in directly with the knife this time.

I dodged by taking a quick step to the side, but he kneed me in the stomach.  I almost lost my breath.  Quickly, I took a step back and performed a spin kick on his hand which sent his knife flying a few meters away.  He then came in with the punches which were a lot easier to block and dodge.  I wasn’t the strongest person, but I sure was quick.  As he tried to do a side kick on me, I decided that it was the time to use the so called “forbidden” move.  I grabbed his leg under my arm and raised a leg.  Then, I jabbed my feet down right where the side of his knee cap was.

Crack.

I took sauntered back, panting and trying to get my breath back.  The man was now on the ground, yelling from the pain on his knee.  His knee was now in a less natural shape; it was slightly bended to the side.

Now I know why the teacher didn’t want to use it.  If I had used this on let’s say… the bully, I probably would have gotten myself expelled and sent to a juvenile detention center.

Junsu and his driver ran to us.

“Jaejoong!  Oh my god!!!! Are you okay?!?!” Junsu shrieked.  Yes, he shrieked…when the fight was over.

“I think I’ll have a purple spot on my stomach for a week or two, but hey, better than getting killed” I said, still panting heavily “Y-you should… help the girl” I said, squatting with my elbows on my knees, completely exhausted.

Junsu ran to the girl who, for the whole time, was sitting there, shaking and looking down.  She had long straight hair covering her face.  When Junsu touched her to help her, she screamed and slapped his hand away.  Junsu flinched back.

“It’s okay!  Everything is fine now!” Junsu said, just like in those movies mind you… even though it makes sense to say it.

A few minutes passed.  Man, the police sure was taking its sweet time.

The sight of the man crying in agony over his knee was getting harder and harder to look at.  I actually started feeling sorry for him.  But then again, he shouldn’t have tried to rape that girl and to kill me.  Getting my breath back, I went to the girl, whom Junsu still wasn’t able to approach and sat down next to her (I was still kind of tired, actually).

“Hey, it’s over!” I said to her, not touching her.

She didn’t reply.

“Hey, you should call you’re parents” I tried.  Still nothing.  I looked around to see if her bag might be somewhere around.  Then, I saw it lying a few feet away.  I went to it and looked through her stuff to find her cell phone.  When I did, I went in her contacts and called “Daddy”.

“Hello?” a man with a grave voice answered in a sweet (and kind of disgusting) way.

“Hi” I said.

“W-who are you?!” his voice automatically changed into an angry and menacing who.

“You’re daughter just got attacked on the street.  Come quick” I said, to not waste time.

“What?!  What did you do to my daughter?!  If you even dare-“

“She’s fine now!” I nearly yelled.  There is no way I’m going to get lectured at after saving somebody while risking my fucking life.  “Just come quickly”  I told him the address.

“You better not have done anything to her!”

I took in a big breath to prevent myself from bitching the living daylight out of this man.

“Can you talk to her for me please?” I said instead “she doesn’t really respond”

And then I put the phone to the girl’s ears.  When she hears her dad’s voice, she looked reanimated again.  She then grabbed the phone with both her hands; scaring me as in the process she also grabbed my hand.  She has a very firm grip.

“Dad!” she said and melted into tears.  I jerked my hand away.

A/N: Bet you guys didn’t see that coming.
