g-shooto-what?
Right, so I just got a tape of Wrestle Expo 2006, and I'm utterly confused. What the blistering kitten parts is G-Shooto?
I think I recognize some of the competitors from a tape I no longer have, but the matches... I've never seen a standing TKO. It's as though one of the competitors verbally tapped in the middle of eating a lot of mid-strength punches? That and the punches look - not pulled exactly, but there's no crispness to many of them. Mind, part of the tape is buggered, so maybe it's cleaner fighting elsewhere - but this is just weird.
Japanese, confusing, two minute rounds... I dunno what I'm looking at, and I now want a clean cut of it, even if it's just enough to sort what people are doing.

EDIT: Ha! I figured out what was up with the tape, and was able to watch the rest of the matches. Looks like G-Shooto is MMA indeed, and there were some quality fights in there. Turns out I'd watched the worst two - low tech fights with poor striking by comparison. I'm now very impressed by some of the fights I've seen.
I'm also horribly confused by some of the rules - but I'll wander out to an English set of rules soon enough.
