Videos, T-shirts, TV Shows, and Movies...just your average post from me

I know I barely post but when I do I have a lot to say.

I know nobody is reading this because all the lj friends I've made I happen to speak with on a regular basis elsewhere so they don't need to see the stupid stuff I have to say.

But if you will allow me to ramble then I will type the first things that come into my head as I speak my mind.

I've made some new videos. You can find them on my YouTube channel. Search westwingwolf...I figure I save my virtual stalkers the time by keeping the same name for everything. I've uploaded several videos pertaining to my college experience. One of them, I'm trying to win a contest for, so if you are only going to watch one...then watch "westwingwolf My College of Charleston" and rate it! Hopefully higher than what it is currently rated. The over videos are a series entitled "Battle of the Smallville 'ships" I'm basically mean and cruel to every character who is comprised of Chlex. I'll piss you off and I don't really care at this point because that idea has been with me for two years and I'm just glad it's done now so it's no longer driving me crazy. Also, there are Beanie Babies.

I've made t-shirts that deal with my videos. You can currently find them at cafepress.com/westwingwolf and cafepress.com/westwingwolf2 They mostly have to deal with Chlex, mocking Lana, and randomly one about peanut butter cups. Please buy something...I need the money.

Which comes to my next topic: looking for a job. Since I've never worked beyond getting paid to help around the house and working as an assistant at my high school for credit, I've had to get creative with filling out applications. I'm also looking into grants and such for creative writing. And then my standby is joining AmeriCorps and PeaceCorps...sadly I don't think even volunteer organizations want me.

I watched Private Practice for only the second time ever.  And all because of Alexis Denisof.  Now if you watch it and haven't seen his episode then stop reading because you are going to be spoiled but I'm not putting up spoiler text because the episode already aired so it's not as if I'm giving away anything that isn't easily known.  It may be because I have no ties to the show and only watched because of Alexis...but despite the fact that his character had two wives who didn't know about each other, I totally thought Addison was a bitch for telling on him (oh she told...she doesn't get a freebie just because she didn't say a word and instead set it up for the two to cross paths).  I was all on his character's side and had it been any other actor (at least one I'm not really into) I would have hated the guy.  I don't play fair.  I like my people and they can rarely do wrong...and when they do I'll come up with an excuse or like them for it...and if I can't, I'll like them anyways.  Did I mention I was a fan of Lex Luthor?   Also the guy who plays Christopher from Gilmore Girls....what's his name...I can't think of it off the top of my head but if I was watching an episode and saw his name, I'd know it was him...anyway he's currently playing Addison's love interest and though I know I shouldn't hate an actor just because I don't like one character they've played in the past, I do.  It's the reverse of always loving actors no matter what.  And I don't really hate...David?...I think his name starts with a D...and maybe the last name starts with an H...or a P...whatever...I don't really hate him....I just always associate him with Christopher who I loath...wait! It's Sutcliffe!  David Sutcliffe!  Man that was going to annoy me until I remembered...and it's so much more rewarding to remember on my own then cheat by going to IMDb.  Back to my original point, he was on and I found myself laughing at whatever he was saying and then hating myself for laughing because I remember Christopher and how much I hate him...I also hate myself when it's actually Christopher whose jokes I'm laughing at.  Same thing happens when I watch Tom Selleck...I can't enjoy Three Men and a Little Lady (I actually prefer the sequel than the original) without thinking of Richard trying to take Monica away from Chandler.  It's not Tom's fault...you just shouldn't do anything to mess with my Matthew.

Which brings me to Matthew's new movie 17 Again...I fear that if I see it, I'll actually see more of ... damn that name left me too...the High School Musical kid...Zac Efron...yuck!  I don't want to pay money to see Matthew and only get like 20 minutes of him...I'll stay home and watch Fools Rush In for the 507th time instead.

Another movie I will not be seeing is Twilight...I have a reaction to the previews...as soon as the trailer starts...I think "fucking Twilight!"  I tried to read the books...they are boring.  And they give vampires a bad name.  Vampires are supposed to be evil, drink blood and burn when they walk into the sunlight...that's what makes them so damn sexy.  They do not twinkle.  They are not wussies.  And they most certainly are not virgins for over a century.

A movie that I will be seeing: Possession.  The premise sounds cool and it has Lee Pace, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Michael Landes...Ned,Buffy, and my favorite Jimmy Olsen (cute and not geeky or annoying)...I'm so there.  How could you not like a story where a guy wakes up from a coma thinking he's his brother...so he is so gonna hook up with his brother's wife...plus there might be something sinister going on...but even if there wasn't...I'd still be into that if I was reading a fanfic with that summary.   A Smallville one where Lex awakes thinking his brother Lucas' wife Chloe is indeed his wife.  Or a BtVS one with Spike and Angel as the brothers...and Spike is the one who wakes up from the coma...well I guess we now know how I'm hoping this story ends.

Finally saw some movies I wanted to see since they came out this summer.  One is Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2...yes I'm a fan of the books...and yes I knew that the movies take different routes than the books do...and so I'm not an anal person who needs the movie to exactly match the books.  I know about the need to cut stuff for time, and that while what works in a book because you have more time to understand the characters...you don't have that same luxury in a movie.  Also some storylines that can work in these books won't work for general audience.  I liked the books and I thought Ann Brashares wrote incredible and realistic tales of these four young women...and I also thought the screenwriter for the movie did a wonderful job of taking the aspects of the rest of the books and making them work for the screen while keeping the same basic sentiment of the books.

Another movie I saw was Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.  I know it got mixed reviews from critics and fans alike...but let's be honest, rarely does a movie of a series excite you as much as the first ever did and especially if those movies are decades apart.  No I didn't like this movie as much as I loved Raiders of the Lost Ark...but I loved it more than Temple of Doom (yeah like it was really hard sell) and I'd put it on par with The Last Crusade.  I liked that they brought back Karen Allen...she was my favorite Indy flame...though not like she had to try hard what with the others being a total priss and a traitor...it's like saying Remus is your favorite DADA professor in Harry Potter.  Still her and Harrison Ford had great chemistry in the first one and it was still present in this movie.  Plus, I'm a hopeless romantic.  Even the presence of Shia LeBouf didn't annoy me like I thought he would.  And the mix of aliens with historical artifacts isn't that far out of left field since there have always been those myths surrounding cultures like the Egytians, Aztecs, Mayans...you name it.  Plus I love the film's message...knowledge is power...but hoping to obtain all the knowledge of the universe is damaging...because we are always meant to strive for more knowledge...and the moment we have learned all we can is the moment when we know longer need to exist.   My suspension of disbelief was only tested once...I mean even if you can survive an atomic bomb by hiding out in a fridge, all that bouncing around he did had to do him in.

The final movie I saw: Get Smart.  I am too young for the series, though I did catch a few episodes on Nick & Night.  I was more into the cartoon version of the show, Inspector Gadget.  Penny and Brain were awesome.  I liked this movie, I probably won't buy it or watch it ever again, but I did enjoy it.  Definitely more than the live action version of Inspector Gadget.

So there we have it, three movies down on my list of ever growing must see movies...I do keep an actual list.  I use Excel.  It's organized by genre and then alphabetized.  Yes, I know I'm weird.

t-shirts, matthew perry, indiana jones, possession, smallville, alexis denisof, college, videos
