Seagulls eating Pigeons

So, I saw something apparently rare the other day. A predatory Sea Gull.

I snapped a few pictures with my DS, and...well, they were crappy pictures. Then, I spoke to a woman who gave me the look of "You're full of crap, I study seagulls and they are NOT predatory ( Read more... )

But, something in the back of my head said "Stick around, shit's about to get real..."

Holy shit I laughed so hard at this XD

I remember you telling me about this and while I didn't doubt it (seagulls are nasty motherfuckers! They'll eat anything!), it's still one of those things you can't really grasp mentally until you see it. That's so cool you were able to get photographic proof of this.

I hope seagull studying lady eats her words. I hope they taste like sweet sweet pigeon.

Me too!!

I looked over the 'net for pictures of gulls eating pigeons, and I couldn't find any where the pigeon was still alive. I began carrying a camera specifically FOR this kind of thing!

Your icon is awesome for this post. ^_^

It's oddly enough the second time I'd seen it! Same place! I'm not sure if it's the same gull though.

Yep, that looks about right for seagulls. They'll eat anything, alive or dead. MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE

I'd never seen it before in seagulls to actively attack and kill a living, healthy pigeon before though!

Isn't it absolutely insane? I stood there for like, ten minutes waiting for this gull to attack, when it did, I put my backpack down and picked out my camera.

Next time I'll listen to myself and put my bag down and take out my camera earlier.
