So here's my plan for the public school system, because I am really tired of the current one:
There will be 3 classes a day, each 2 hours and 15 minutes long.
Grades will be calculated by the following:
*40% participation (Showing up, discussions, also involves essays, reports stuff like that, wich by the way would be 3-4 reports tops for the semester)
*20% Notes (To make sure you pay attention)
*30% Quizzes/Tests (Again, to make sure you pay attention)
*10% Homework
Ok here would be a typical week. Monday is a lecture/intro to topics that will be covered through the week. Tuesday more into detail on subject. Wednesday would be lecture/debate on the material. Thursday would be another lecture, followed by a little project.(It would be worked on and presented in the same class period.) Friday would be another discussion and quiz covering what was talked about through the week, as well as a brief intro of what would be in store for the following week.
This would be my ideal school system, less focused on homework and more focused on ACTUALLY LEARNING THE MATERIAL. I believe if people have a debate/discussion instead of writing a paper they learn alot more.
