I had my second Birthday of the year yesterday. Yes, lucky me I get two, and this one was really spectacular. 70 people, all of which were at least tenuously related to me, turned up, making it a massive noisy party. Since most people in the family are devout it was mostly good clean, christian fun, although there were a couple of people who seemed to be there just to get pissed ( like at any good party).
It was also a chance for me to meet Sage's family, who all turned up. They're a strange bunch, odder than mine really. All of them are very loud, and very black( yes most of the stereotypes really are true). I got treated to an unexpected concert by one of them, who had brought her own backing tapes along for some reason. Since I was the birthday boy I got sung and rapped at during most of it, which was a bizzare experience, rather funny but also a bit embarrassing. I didn't think people actually did things like that. Shows how much I know about my own people, eh.
Anyway, appart from that I've just been hanging around with various cousins. Once again I've been driving illegally, although I'm surprisingly competant considering its been two years since the last time I drove, and I actually enjoyed it this time, so it might motivate me to actually do my test.
On my travels I got to see a few of the places I used to spend time in back when I lived here, which was nice. Most of my family are rather new to me, so until now there hasnt been much of a chance to relive old memories. Its a pity all my friends are gone now though. Oh well.
Thats about all, appart from the fact that I noticed that there are actually loads of white people still here, so all those stories about it being dangerous to visit are bollocks. They co-exist pretty much as they did before, with no conflict at all that I can see. Its probably different in the countryside of course, but its still not as racially intolerant as we've been led to believe.
