Merry Christmas Eve, to those of you on my f-list celebrating such matters. Two brief points at this late juncture before I collapse into a heap of anxious exhaustion for the night:
1) If/When I am a parent, there will be no wrapping of presents at Christmas time. Instead, there will be five hundred assorted christmas bags reused (in an effort to be environmentally friendly, of course) every year, with half a ton of tissue paper kept on hand at all time. And when my children ask why THEY do not have wrapped presents like all their contemporaries, and the scary little cartoon figures on TV, I will tell them that those people are weird. And possibly serial killers. Who wants to have Christmas like a serial killer?
I'm saying I hate wrapping presents. Especially 24 of them in one night. Especially when my younger brother decides that helping with his half is...yeah, not going to happen. And then he goes to bed, peaceful, without visions of ripped paper and accidentally doubled-over scotch tape by the roll. Alas.
2) Elaborate metaphors in fanfiction of a smut-filled nature should be kept to a minimum. And by 'minimum', I mean they should not be included at all. I have a particular example in mind, but I will refrain, for fear of damaging hearts, minds, and retinas. Suffice it to say, the CSI fandom is suffering some tragic events right now.
Goodnight and good tidings! :)
