Nowadays everybody and their dog has a facebook ~no biggie~ but what would say or do if you knew that there was someone under the age of 13 (ie: user is only 9 years old) - which is 1. against the COPPA (
http://www.ftc.gov/privacy/coppafaqs.shtm) and 2, against user policy on FB. Would you report that user, the users parent(s) or just ignore it? I know of such a user and unfortunately this person is a relative.
I’m from a prude (far from it), but I don’t think a 9 y/o should on fb, there are enough freaks out there that would take advantage of him because of his age. His mother and stepfather are too far wrapped in themselves to monitor his activity. My older children (both in their mid to high teens) are online, but they know enough what to do and not to do.
