Grabbing at straws or what?

WTF? Last week it was "older fathers" that causes autism and now "obese mothers" causes autism. What's next? Mothers with asthma and green eyes having autistic children. Excuse me, but not everyone can be "Angelina Jolie thin" before or when they become pregnant.

Obese mothers and autism

Okay, it'd be nice if a person (like myself) could be slim and trim before getting pregnant, but not everyone can "magically" lose weight before getting pregnant like a majority of Hollywood stick figures...er.. actress - if they truly get pregnant in the first place and don't have plastic surgery. There are people who are overweight/obese due to health or medical issues. I for one, just happen to fall under the "morbidly obese" category on the BMI, but my weight gain before my pregnancy was not due to begin lazy, over eating, not exercising it in fact is due to stress. I don't care what people might think but not everyone who's under stress eats. When I'm stressed and I look at food I become physically ill - even the thought or smell of coffee when stress makes me sick. That in itself is treading on thin ground considering I am a die-hard caffeine addict connoisseur.

I seriously doubt that these researchers actually took the time to research these "obese mothers". Also, I find it very irritating they only looked at overweight women. Have they bothered to take into account women who are slim & trim before pregnancy are just as equally possible to have children that are autistic? I know of 2 women who were slim & trim before they got pregnant - 1 women has 4 children and 3 of them are autistic, the other women has 3 and her 2 older children have autism whereas her youngest isn't. So what are they the "exception to the research"?
