with the short time i have here im going to post a few pictures with captions as an update on Langkawi and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Malayasia is by far the biggest and most interesting reality check i've had in a long time. i honestly didn't know what to expect like, if English was usable here, who are the minorities, what their customs are etc...
it's a very awkward place in the world being that it's like 60% muslim but not really a muslim country. although i think that's debatable.
at first i felt scared and a bit intimidated. i still get that when passing a large crowd of men but i've taken to behaving masculine on my own behalf to counter the feeling of being shunned while at the same time, i have been respectful.
in the last week i have basically done my best to wear clothes that aren't too revealing. for example i try to cover my legs with tights or crop pants. i don't try to cover my arms. i just wear t-shirts setting aside my spaghetti strapped tops and low cut tops. it's not a rule that i have to dress like that here but i feel it is respectful to the woman who wear burkas mostly.
in population there are Malaysians, Indians and Chinese people. i have limited time to write about this strange yet dreamy place so here are some pictures to tell another story...
