There's an awesome crack plot bunny in the comments here, at ffrants - "Marry me, James Norrington!" "Of course I will, Jack!"
But that sort of fic can be done only by someone who's
a) completely comfortable with Jack and his sense of humor
b) can do pirates
c) can do the period
I can do neither (I can't even spell 'Caribbean' without looking it up)despite of growing up with 'Captain Blood' by Rafael Sabatini under my pillow, but I'd love to see that fic in existence someday.
