Canon: The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, as you might have guessed, is a cartoon series about a small boy named Flapjack and his numerous disturbing, misguided misadventures. Many of these misadventures are caused by or directed related to Flapjack’s drunken, tall tale-telling idol, an old pirate named Captain K'nuckles. The two are on a constant quest for the legendary Candied Island, and would do anything for a hard candy. Flapjack continues to get involved in (often dangerous) situations for the sake of candy or adventure, despite the disapproval of his surrogate mother, a talking whale named Bubbie.
Flapjack himself is very gullible and trusting, believing everything K’nuckles tells him despite the captain's tendency to lie and manipulate him. Flapjack is also extremely giggly, excitable, friendly, offbeat, and is often described as “adorable” and “angelic” by Bubbie. He thinks just about everyone is his friend, and while he does have a way of winning people over with his upbeat attitude and catchy (but bizarre) off-the-cuff jingles, many of the people he knows think he’s more than a little crazy. Flapjack is willing to do anything in the name of adventure, because his life’s dream is to become a famous, gnarly adventurer like his beloved captain. ♥

I was going to bring my dear friend Captain K'nuckles here to meet you all, but he went to sleepies in a barrel again. I guess he adventured too hard. So I had to get here all by myself! I rode on the backs of dolphins for many, many days. But I'm sure there will be plenty of other adventure-loving adventuring adventurers here to teach you everything you need to know about being tough, stringy, and sea-worthy! Nahahaha!
What do you mean, there won't be? Oh, cannonballs! I was greatly lookin' forward to growing that chest hair... But don't despair, good sirs! Who cares if some big fat meanies -- pardon my language, ma'am! -- don't want to teach you fine gentlemen the basics of maritime navigation and beard maintenance!? Just because you're missin' a few arms and organs...! That doesn't make you any less sea worthy, no sir, not in my book! Ahem.
