I don't read nearly enough fic in which Sherlock balks after he's made the leap, so to speak. It's definitely an idea I'd like to see explored more.

Hm, I write fic because I feel there's this empty void that's really not explored to my own satisfaction. IMHO, Sherlock would definitely have some inner-conflict about the introduction of sex. He's a thirty-something virgin - there must be a reason he's held himself so aloft, and subsequently, there must be MORE of a reason for him to relax his self-control and make such a leap.

I agree, and I think the thing he'd have to struggle against the most would be his pride. I ...kinda get this vibe from him that says "look at you, little people, I'm so far above your primitive urges", so discovering a sex drive in himself would feel like a degradation, I suppose. Epic luuurve for Jawn might be helpful here, IMO. xD

Aside from that, love this little snippet! :)

Mm, yep yep! Agreeing with you on all fronts. I think I'm going to have to shock Sherlock through the first initial orgasm with John - have his arousal take him by surprise and then be too interested/curious/egoistical-(like he has something to prove) to back down. What do you think?

I think it sounds interesting. :) Especially the part about wanting to prove something; he might want to live up to his declaration of "sex does not alarm me" - and then it'd turn out that theory =/= practice (or something, hope you don't mind my musing. ;) I like musing about characters xD).

This short snippet reads completely differently now that I've read the fic - in a positive way, of course. :) The background gives it a more specific shape. :)

Btw, your John!voice sounds quite a lot like the ACD!Watson’s voice, and I believe transcribing ACD!Watson’s voice so it sounds right in a modern!AU porny fanfic cannot be an easy thing to do, so I am impressed. :))
