Hours after Angel had gone off after Darla armed with a stake and a vengeance, Wesley looked up from his book -- homework, actually, if you wanted to get bogged down in specifics -- and asked what he supposed everyone was thinking.




Wesley
Or started to, anyway.

"You don't suppose he's really--" he began.



Cordelia
"Stop right there," Cordelia interrupted him.


Wesley
"I'm sorry?"


Cordelia
"Stop it," Cordelia repeated. "We said after he left that we wouldn't dwell, and you're dwelling."


Wesley
"I most certainly am n--" Wesley began.


Cordelia
"Dwelling," Cordelia repeated. "Isn't he, Gunn?"


Gunn
"Oh, yeah," Gunn said, not looking up from the knife he was sharpening. "With the 'you don't suppose' and the 'I have to conjecture'..."


Wesley
"I'm just expressing my concern!" Wesley protested.


Cordelia
"Otherwise known as dwelling," Cordelia decided. "Stop it."


Wesley
Wesley sank back in his seat, turning his attention back to his book. "All right, all right," he conceded. "I'd just like to caution you both that if--"


Gunn and Cordelia
"Dwelling," Gunn and Cordelia chorused.


Wesley
Wesley relented. "I'll be quiet."
