Some good news: I got my results back. A distinction for Strategic Procurement, a credit for Leadership (only two marks off a distinction, sadly) and a credit for Financial Management. I have absolutely no idea how I pulled off that credit for Financial Management. I must have done really well on the exam.
If I'd managed to fail a subject it would have screwed up my plans for next year -- basically, instead of doing two subjects in the first semester and then finishing, I would have had to take one subject in the first semester and then two subjects in the second semester (due to my university's lack of summer courses). Anyway, that hasn't happened, so now if everyone goes according to plan I should have a Masters of Business by about July next year. Woo, qualifcation.
Of course, my student benefits stop soon, so I'm going to need to find some source of income for when my savings run out... Eh, I'll think about it later.
Anyway, last night I went to the preview of the play I didn't get the part in. It was a good play but, more importantly, I would have been a lot better than the guy they cast (he was too old, for one thing -- nothing says "early twenties" like "male pattern baldness"). Actually, the guy who got the part was the third person on the interview panel. He's done stuff with the director and his wife before so I suppose this was all arranged beforehand. I'm pretty sure Zetsubou Sensei has done a skit on that idea: "Times when they go through the formal decision-making process even though the decision's already been made." Zetsubou-shita! This pretending the decision hasn't been made when it really has been made society has me in despair! (See also: every job interview in Canberra except for general intakes.)
But I'm actually OK with not getting the part -- I did a good interview and was really professional about not getting the part. (My mother doesn't really understand that if you can't take not getting parts as a personal attack -- there are many reasons at work behind casting, it's a better idea to work with the process than to have a tantrum when things are slightly unfair.)
Anyway, back to playing Fire Emblem.
