Xavier was under the impression that Rachel had to control the chaotic elements of the Phoenix. Had to suppress Her destructive desires or the world would suffer. What he didn't understand was that the force within Rachel wasn't always about Destruction...but it was always chaotic. Life wasn't orderly; no it was messy and hard and beautiful. Creation was just as chaotic, just as powerful, as the destructive elements he feared.
Chaos didn't mean tearing the world apart.
No, sometimes it meant this...dancing in the courtyard.
Instead of a garden today there were poles of every shape and size. Poles that held wind-chimes of every variety. There was no logic, no order, and certainly no set tone as the breeze played through them. It was utterly unpredictable, a song without beginning or end, and it appealed to something deep inside the young mutant. It made her laugh and sway within the cacophony, an unpredictable, chaotic heart within the singing chimes.
