Jason stretched in the darkness, happy to be free for the night. Between work, feedings for both Jean Claude and Anita, and dominance battles almost constantly at the lupanar, he rarely had a quiet night to himself

The girl in black denim jeans and vest looked just as out of place as Jason did. Stretched easily across two velvet chairs, she looked like nothing so much as a cat watching birds through a window. Problem being it was the people coming in that she was scrutinizing so.
The new arrival wasn't human. Wasn't mutant either. How many species of 'human type' were there?
He scans the room as he enters and sees the girl watching him. He knows that look: he's worn it many times in public when the moon was close to full. He gives her a warning look that clearly says, Not prey, don't even try it.
But she is female.
He stops just close enough to be heard easily, giving her an easy smile. "Hey. You staying here?"
"Quite the run." she noted, not shifting from her position in the least "Where did it start?"
There...wasn't much form to rake over. Not yet. All muscle and whipcord over bone. A week of solid meals were giving her the promise of real curves to come at her hip and chest? "You may not have a choice, Jason." well, if he could ogle, she could 'eavesdrop'. It was only fair. "This is a strange place."
"I do that" she shrugged, breaking eye contact so she could stare at the ceiling. It was an interesting ceiling. "St. Louis...haven't been there. Where is it?"
"Hmmm, I only know New York..." she noted. Then she yanked hr gaze back to smile at him "Yes! Tell me, are there mutants in Missouri or just humans and...people like you?" she didn't probe after the sudden suspicion she felt from him. Suspicion, and worry, were natural in her presence.
"Among other things." she agreed, still smiling. If he came closer he could smell her? She smelled like nothing human. All flame and something strange beneath...
"Hmmm, hard not to know about mutants with all the super hero teams running around." she noted. "I wonder if this place messed with time..." or mayyybe she escaped from a nuthouse? Even odds!
He's not sure he wants to get any closer yet, but he does manage a step to try to pick up her scent better. All instinct is telling him that there is danger here and he'd be wise to bolt.
"Super hero teams, right...look, uh..." He feels a little silly. "Can you at least tell me your name? Since you...read mine."
And Rachel stayed very, very still. No moves, no challenging stare. She kept looking up at the ceiling, a thin line of neck showing as she spoke to him almost distractedly.
"Rachel. Grey or Summers, take your pick of last name that makes you comfortable." she offered immediately. "Newest oddball circumstance where I'm from. And yes, teams. Have you heard of Captain America? That's one of the major players most of the world knows..."
"Rachel. Nice to meet you." The greeting is almost automatic - she still freaks him out a little. Why do the hot ones always have to be the scary ones?
But then he giggles. Heh; Captain America. "Really? You know Captain America?"
She laughed at the 'nice to meet you' part, something like light flickering in her eyes for a moment.
She sobered when he asked his question though. "No, actually. I'm new and...hmmm, Ororo calls me 'rough around the edges' so I haven't worked any cross team pairings yet. Besides, I am told the Captain doesn't like to work with vigilantes much unless necessary."

"Haven't decided yet." she admitted easily, lifting one shoulder in a shrug. "Why, are you?"

He smiles, his eyes subtly raking over her form. "Though if you're planning on staying I might be persuaded to stick around for awhile."

"Just a park outside St. Louis. I haven't run here before but I saw the pla..."
He frowned, suddenly suspicious of the woman. "How did you know my name?"

She's acting like some of the vamps back home do when they have fun planned. Fun for them; never for you.

"You read minds." He's still a bit skeptical.

He caught the flicker in her eyes and found himself staring hard to see if he could see it again. Because he must have been seeing things, right?
He laughs. "Ok, I'm really sorry, but I have to ask: what...are you?"
