Talk about a moving act of kindness you experienced or witnessed.
It isn't always easy to identify those in need. People will have their dignity. They will not wear it on their sleeve.
A need can be emotional as well as physical. It doesn't make it any less valid. The trick is in identifying what is truly need, and what is merely want. All things besides food, water, and shelter cannot be eliminated as easily as one might think. There are other things people cannot live without: affection, family, a meaningful purpose. Money. It's quite impossible to live without money, despite what some may say.
There are some people who believe the amount of money they have is directly proportional to the amount of fulfillment they feel. On this I will not comment.
I have seen and been impressed by those able to identify those in need and attempt to help them. How charitable.
I am equally impressed when we identify those same people and continue to let them fend for themselves. 'Tis the season.
