I like how you just used a lot of words to say nothing at all. It reminds me of Alan Shore. Do you know him? You aren't a lawyer, though, are you?
So... interesting. You got shit-canned. I've just been approved to hire an assistant. I'm not very good with math, but... maybe that means you should come in and interview. What are your skills like? Do you have any references at all? Are you willing to work in Boston, Mass.? And, also, I know that you're acquainted with my co-worker, Eve Hart; would working at the same firm cause any problems for you?
Yes, I have a resume; references. I'm a...people person. I organize and multi-task well. Location isn't an issue. I'm perfectly confortable working with...anyone.
Well, it's not like I'm going to look at your resume or call your references. I just need someone to keep me on schedule, attend all-staff meetings, write proposals, answer my phone, drive me around... stuff like that. I need a "go-to" kinda guy. You sound like that guy.
And you wouldn't be working with Eve so much as against her, as you might run into her on occasion. She's been good to me here, so I don't want to make her life any harder. So, what I'm saying is this: don't piss in the company pool.
As long as you can do that, and keep me more or less on track (oh yeah, and not fuck me over - EVER), I'd be happy to negotiate on salary as soon as you're ready.
Do what you have to do. There's no real rush, but I'd like to have your disclosure forms/contracts signed and taken care of by the end of next week.
Also, do you happen to have a marker on your soul already? Because, depending on your previous employer and your level of debt, that may or may not be a problem.

Let me know.
