New Neighbor

 It appears that a Scarlet Tanager has moved in. He keeps alighting on my office windowsill and fluttering at his own reflection (even with the blind down.) The intense red-orange color of this bird is amazing; the crappy cellphone picture below just doesn't do it justice.

And with the black wings, I believe the species' coloration is unique. I found this pic which is a bit closer to what I saw; the red plumage actually has an orange cast.
