It's not the winter
The weather got crazy. Totally. Temp is about zero (celsius) for last week, slush and mud on the roads, rains and other "joys" of early-spring weather. But the february has just started! What the hell will be in the spring? Sahara? Or on the contrary tropical rains

+3 C, sunny, warm, snow is melting everywhere. Early spring - as is.
But usual temp in february should be about minus 25-30. So... :)
You have no need to sorry. I also work hard of late and have almost no time to write in journal or even to read friends. And I don't think that anyone must reply to my comments in shortest time. As I don't think that anyone generally must to reply. Everyone of us do it voluntarily and only when he/she has freetime, appropriate mood or just a wish.
I tried to join some english-speaking communities but just became absolutely annoyed by crowds of young people which wrote tons of bullshit about nothing and it was totally impossible to speak with them about anything. Of course I left these communities.
By the way I asked you about not exactly American communities but just about english-speaking. And with adequate members.
My interests are quite banal: traveling, technical novelties, cosmos and all what's connected with it, some popular-science journals (like popular mechanics - it seems it's published in US too), books (I inexpressibly want to have got time for reading books - in youth I read a lot) and maybe some world news - to be aware. In russian lj i read ru_cosmos, ru_science and two or three technical communities. But here I couldn't find their analogs. =(
