RP Example - Wolfram & Hart Are Coming
Game: Sunnydale OSI
Who: Wesley and Gwen
When: Wednesday Night, Late
Where: Wesley's House
Gwen had been at X-ecutioners HQ all evening, mostly trying to find out anything resembling clues as to whether or not Wolfram and Hart were actually here for them. However... after failing to locate any information, Gwen decided it was time to start warning the people she loved... just in case. So, she bolted home to Wesley's place, and sprinted into the kitchen, hoping her Servator was still awake.
Wesley was downstairs in the kitchen, doing some paperwork and drinking a cup of tea when Gwen came running into the house. "Gwen?" He stood up and walked to her. "What's the matter?"
"Wes... we might be in... um... kinda sorta a little bit of mega-major trouble." Yup. That's our Gwen. Speech-giver extraordinaire. "Like... if we're the Fantastic Four? This is like... the Silver Surfer just told us Galactus' big purple ass is coming."
"Silver Surfer? Galactus? Fantastic Four? Gwen, speak English, because I have no idea what you're talking about." That was a great way to make him feel old.
"Cassie's old man... his Grr-I'm-Evil law firm? Suddenly set up a branch in Sunnydale. Not even two weeks after I killed him." She was clearly in a panic, but not for her own welfare. "Wes... if they know who I am, this is BAD. You, Laili, and Tia gotta get the fuck outta Dodge, PRONTO."
"Wolfram & Hart, here?" That was possibly one of the last things that he was expecting to happen, although, at the same time, they *were* on a Hellmouth. "Gwen, I can't leave you here. The only way I'd ever consider leaving would be to have you come with us. If you don't know that by now, then I haven't done an adequate job of showing how much I care about you." He wasn't going to leave her here to get slaughtered.
"Wes. I know you care about me. I do. And that's why you gotta get the fuck OUT. Laili and Tia are innocents, Wes. You gotta get them somewhere safe. Because trust me when I say that these guys will come after everyone I love. I can take care of Marlowe... but you gotta help me with the others."
"You don't give either of them the credit they deserve." Especially Laili, he thought to himself. "Even if I told them to leave, they wouldn't. And even though I don't like to think of it this way, it's part of my JOB to help take care of you and keep you alive. I'd do it even if it wasn't, but it is as well. I can't just flee at the first sign of danger."
"I know... but..." She was starting to realize it was useless. "Wes, if something happens to either of them because of something *I* did... I'll never forgive myself."
"Gwen, nothing is going to happen to them. We can protect them. OSI can help protect them. You're not alone in this." He just wanted her to understand that he'd always be by her side.
"Yeah, yeah... fine." She sighed, knowing defeat when it slapped her upside the head. "But you die? I am never fucking talking to you AGAIN."
He laughed. "I'll keep that in mind." He planned on warning both Tia and Laili, to give them the option of leaving if they wanted, but he still doubted highly that they would.
"This could get bad, Wes." She decided the time for hiding anything was long past. "This could be war." She said, as she strapped one of her bladed gauntlets from her costume onto her forearm.
"Why are they after you? Is it still because of the break in?" He didn't know about all of the events the night that Cassie came back from the brink of death.
"It's because the asshole's dead..." she flipped a dagger in the air, catching it and quickly sheathing it in her jeans.”And I killed him."
"Her father? The man that poisoned her?" When Gwen nodded, he just said, "Good. It's not as if he was redeemable."
"Wes... stop it." She glared at him, in disbelief. "You know damn well you value all human life. You're saying that for ME. He tried to get in to our headquarters... to get Cassie. And I did what I had to do." Good lord... this statement was going to open up a WHOLE new can of worms.
"What would we have done with him if you had just subdued him?" He shook his head. "Locked him away? Tried to fix him? I wouldn't want to fix a person like that. He tried to kill his own daughter for...I can't even think of a reason why he would ever do a thing like that. I value human life, but someone like that isn't even human."
"Wes... I.... “She hugged him quickly with her non-weapon arm.”Thank you. For everything. Now... my team has to... prepare for war. I love you, Wes. In case this goes badly... tell Laili and Tia the same."
"I love you, too, Gwen." He hugged her back tightly. "I'll do everything in my power to help you. You know that."
"I do." And with those words, she turned, striding out to help her friends face whatever it was they were about to go up against.
