Who: Wesley and Tia
When: Sunday Night
Where: Nice Restaurant X
Wesley had taken Tia out to dinner tonight to ask her something important. He looked a little nervous, but not that terrified nervous that showed that bad news was coming. They had just finished ordering their food, and had just been served their drinks. It was now or never to start the conversation. "So, Tia, what do you think of Laili?"
"She seems real nice, Wesley." She answered, but not before she had taken a drink from the glass sitting before her. "Granted I don't know her all too well, but she seems nice, and you do seem to like her a whole lot." Tia offering a soft smile across the table to her father.
He smiled. "I do like her a lot." He felt that that was an understatement, but that was okay. "I was...." He seemed like he was having trouble putting his thoughts into words at the moment, and paused to think.
"Was what?" The teen giving him a curious look as if trying to figure out what thoughts were running through her father's mind.
"I'm not sure how to ask this. I don't want you to take it the wrong way, but I feel that I need to ask you this before I do anything else." He ran his fingers nervously through his hair. "What would you think if I...if I propose to Laili? Tell me the truth."
Huh? Her eyes went wide with that thought. It really was the last thing she had expected her father to ask her, not that she had any inkling of what possible thing he might have asked, but it wasn't anywhere near there. "You want to ask Laili to marry you?" Tia tossed back straight faced a long second before a bog ole smile spread across her features. "I'd say I think that would be wonderful, Wesley." Anyone who'd seen the two together could see the got along quite well, might even consider Wesley and Laili a matched pair.
He smiled, looking greatly relieved. "I'm so glad that you feel that way. I wanted to make sure that you were fine with it before I did it." He didn't want her to be upset or anything.
"You really didn't have to Wesley, but thank you for taking into account how I might feel about it. So. When are you planning on popping the question? And have you a ring all picked out?" She asked with a beaming smile. Yep, she was happy her father had found happiness, and was making the move to see that he'd keep it in his life.
"I'm not sure when I should ask her. Her birthday is this week, but that may be too short notice to get a ring. I don't have one picked out yet. I wouldn't know where to begin." Yes, he hadn't done much work on this other than asking Tia.
"Ok." Kristianna said. The teen taking another sip of her drink before continuing on. "I think a ring should be bought before any other plans are made. Once that little detail is taken care of I think everything else will fall easily into place. I could go with you if you want, help you pick out the perfect one." Tia said with a soft smile to her father.
"I would greatly appreciate your help, actually. I don't know where to start in looking for a ring." He had been saving some extra money for a while to purchase one, but didn't exactly have a clue as to what to get. "I'd like to do it as soon as possible if that's ok with you. When is a good day for you?"
"Tomorrow? After school lets out?" Tia offering the possible option to her father. "You could pick me up and then we could go do a little ring shopping." The teen giving a gentle smile.
"That sounds like a good plan to me," Wesley said. He was so glad that Tia was happy about this, and that she even wanted to be involved with picking out the ring.
