MORE LIES FROM THE LYING LIARS

Nov 11, 2005 11:15

President Bush and his National Security Adviser, Stephen J. Hadley, have spent the past couple of days addressing criticism of the invasion of Iraq with a two-pronged lie - one, I suppose, for each tine of their forked tongues. First, they're still asserting that Congress saw the same intellignece that the White House did (which is a lie) and, second, they're claiming that independent commissions have determined that the Bush administration did not misrepresent the intelligence in relation to Iraq (which - big surprise - is another lie). Characteristically, these lies are supported by further lies. In fact, Bush and Hadley (and, for that matter, Condoleezza Rice) have been doing as much lying this week as Ahmed Chalabi - which is saying rather a lot.

As ever, though, if they keep repeating these lies over and over and over and over, a significant percentage of the population will eventually come to believe them. That is, after all, how they managed to get reelected in the first place. Damn - if only this country could suddenly spawn an informed electorate, these lying bastards would be in shit so deep they'd suffocate. But where the hell's our allegedly liberal media? Why isn't every responsible journalist in the country saying, "What the hell are you talking about, you lying sons of bitches? Do you even know the truth any more? How utterly stupid do you think we are?" Then, again, I guess - as a populace - we are exactly as stupid as they assume we are and, ultimately, we've got the government we deserve.

Bush did inadvertantly speak a bit of truth in his speech yesterday, though, when he said, "It is deeply irresponsible to rewrite the history of how that war began." You said it, you lying sack of shit, you said it.
