Well, this thing certainly has accumulated quite the pile of dust, now hasn't it? *pushes 5 tons of dust aside* There, maybe now I can make a quick post. :)
Many months ago, I'd been reading the blogs/ljs of my friends and such on a fairly regular basis. That tapered off a bit, and then I got a new laptop and couldn't install the blog-reading software I like because I didn't have a key, and so I ended up just stopping. I've been so distracted that I'd hardly even noticed.
It's occurred to me that perhaps one of the reasons I never post--besides lack of time--and perhaps motivation--is that my personal website blog is so public. I use the domain for all my email, which means any employer--or anyone, really--would easily find it. I'm hesitant to go into much detail about my personal life on a website that future employers--or who knows who else--are likely to read.
Someplace like LJ I have fewer qualms about, especially if I "disconnect" my site from LJ (remove the links back and forth between them). So I'm contemplating going into "dual-blog" mode--LJ for personal stuff, my own domain for "professional" stuff.
Does anyone even still read this thing? *shrug*
LiveJournal sure has changed since the last time I spent any time here...
