[For Enide] "Come to Me, You Who are Heavy-Burdened...."

Jan 31, 2011 03:09

It's getting on toward the end of the Christmas season, and Parsifal is taking down the faded greenery in the chapel, as well as laying in a supply of candles, preparatory to Candlemass in a few days. He's always fond the days after Christmas and before Lent to be almost more dry and penitential than the days of fasting and prayer themselves, perhaps because the celebration has passed and there is a different kind of anticipation on the horizon, a drier, more somber kind than the hopeful, joyful expectation of Advent.

He's alone with these pensive thoughts, but he's easily interrupted and glad for the company, however it might come.

Specifically for Enide, but if someone else would like to speak to him, feel free to nudge his typist...
