Orientation week hath begun!
I didn't go to the thing on Monday.
Tuesday: "In My Back Yard" community service day. My group got to serve and eat a meal with women whom had recently been released from prison (like within weeks). It was an amazing organization and I feel privileged to have had that opportunity. Plus, I think we were the only group that actually had human contact with whom we were helping, everyone else did manual labor and no human contact.
Wednesday: two things. First, there was a talk on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, which is a huge focus at my law school. They had to move quickly and introduced all these different offices and programs. Then, there was a Diversity Day event followed by food (there's always food at the school events) where we got to talk to each other and professors.
Thursday: All day orientation.
Friday: All day orientation. Followed my boy coming to visit!!! :) :) :)
I also need to squeeze in time to finish my assignments for the first day of class (which I obviously DON'T want to do while my boy is here!) and clean the pigsty that is my room.
And next Monday: first day of classes!!!
