The state of werewolf's fan.....

I haven't been around, even lurking. The job opportunity that I most wanted was a possibility and I was researching, meditating and praying it would go well. I have a friend in marketing who gives me tips/pep talks and I went out to Long Island and spent the day with them. And the sweetest puppy ( Read more... )

Oh, you poor thing! Elbows may not be serious, but they're horrible painful, even when you just knock them. A fracture must be awful.

I shall cross my fingers that one of those jobs comes through for you.

Oh, I really want this job! It's just that It'll require flying in to Maine periodically so I need to figure out what that schedule would be an then find more freelance work or another part time job...

And yes, falling and landing on your elbow IS NOT FUN!

Thanks for the good wishes Nurse Honda. I can feel my elbow pain easing already!

Ah! Half nekkid men and hugs make everything better! It looks like I've got the job too. So I've got a week and a half to totally heal the elbow before I fly to Maine.......

YAY!!!! Congrats! I hope my hubby is just as lucky. He has an interview today: 5 positions/500 interviewees (and that's knocked down from the thousand odd applicants). Sigh.

I believe that's about what the job market in the US has been too. I'm going through all this for a freelance job for which I have 30 years of experience......

Oh, you poor thing! I'm so sorry! Nothing worse than pain of any sort.

I know that "have to pull perky out of my *ss" feeling. I have my fingers crossed for you on the job front! M.

I seem to have the job now. I don't want to speculate about what went on between 6:15 Friday, when they said that I didn't and this afternoon when they asked was I still interested!

So in about a week and a half, I fly to Maine for the day to meet my new colleagues. I'll have samples sent to me here in NJ and work by phone/ email except for fittings and meetings when I'll need to go to L.L. Bean in Freeport, Maine. But I really, really wanted the opportunity to try this and see where it leads me. So things are looking up!

Oh, fabulous! (I wondered when you said "Maine" if that meant "Freeport.") Good luck! I see above that you're very overqualified for it, so you probably don't need too much luck--just the ordinary, settle-in-happily sort. Congrats! M.

Oh no! A broken elbow sounds really nasty - you have my sympathies. Does putting ice on the sore areas help at all? It might not given that it's broken (and might be in a cast anyway), but if there's swelling in the area then it could help a little.

Crossing my fingers that you hear good news on the job. *hugs*

Ice is the prescription for swelling. And I hate it! Did it though while trying to convince myself that I couldn't actually have broken anything............

It seems like I do have the job. I'll need to figure out what the schedule will be and what other kind of work I can do to supplement the money but I really, really wanted it because I'll be well paid for the time I put in for them and it's a unique situation.
