I know this is an odd thing to be the subject of my first post in I-know-not-how-long, but... how'd a guy who isn't even that good a player get super-famous for stopping to pray at apparently random moments?
I mean, it's hardly the best endorsement for God if a mediocre player is the one doing all the spontaneous stop-and-pray moments. Because

As for Tebow the religious stuff isn't fake, if you learn his backstory he was apparently a refused to be aborted baby that was expected to be deficient and turned out healthy and the son of a Ministeress that did work in impoverished nations. The fascination with him comes from his humility and never say die attitude. Rather than giving up when the Broncos receivers were recovered (*debateable since he seems poor at reading NFL defenses) he lurched the ball and ran for those first downs giving his body unselfishly to stretch for that first down that will keep the teams hope of winning alive. Its that he pounded his way forward fearlessly and doing whatever it takes to win rather than baseball sliding the second he got to the first down marker that I feel is the part of his legacy that impressed people. Its his attitude and never give up attitude at the end of games that helped the Broncos win most of those close games. The media of course to accentuate the guy of course showed aftermath footage of him doing his kneel, which caught frenzy, much the same way a Finish certain red, white, and black bird that looks more like a puffer fish than a bird has become pop culture.
Will that beatdown tarnish his legend, depends, the Broncos were not expected to make the playoffs after such a terrible season the year past and dismal start and had not been for a brain lapse in Chicago and or meltdown by the Oakland Raiders in their must win game against the Chargers or a play here and or there they wouldn't have, but thats football.
They did win a few close games, the team eeked into the playoffs via circumstance of being in the leagues weakest overall division this year and then were able to defeat the vaunted Pittsburgh Steelers and their #1 ranked defense before capsizing like a child coming off a sugar high against the leagues second worse pass defense, and one of the leagues best offenses in New England.
It was quite the Cinderella season for the team and one most Broncos fans will be sure not to forget, and all the winning started happening when Tim Tebow the Broncos 3rd string quarterback took the helm.
