[I fully admit to seeing driscoll-mun and several others from milliways on this. And it looks like FUN. So-anyway. Grant from book canon, just after the T-Rex attack. Did I do that right?]
1. Who is your character's confidant?
Grant's biggest confidant is probably Doctor Ellie Sattler. She's been his student the longest, and she's sort of become his right hand at organizing their Montana digs.
2. Is your character married? Does he have a lover, significant other, girlfriend, boyfriend?
Alan Grant's a widower, his wife (Doctor Marissa Kimbell-Grant) has been dead for ten years.
Alan married young to a med-student named Marissa Kimbell that he met while he was studying at the University of Denver. Persuing her, she considered "Dino-Boy" a bit beneath her level until Grant turned up offering to take a medical class to be close to her. She went to Boston to attend MedSchool, and upon her return Grant proposed. Marissa found dinosaurs rather silly and childish, but she supported him because he.....was her husband. They grew very attached as the years progressed.
Marissa was killed in a car accident by a Drunk-Driver who still remains incarcerated. Despite it being ten years since her death-Grant doesn't like to talk about it, except to dissuade individuals (lovingly) who think that he and Ellie are together.
Students have attempted to set Alan up with at least four female members of the Denver University Faculty. Grant, not completely oblivious, has made sure to show up to every single one of his dates in his trademark hawaiian shirt, hat, and sunglasses. He doesn't believe in formal attire.

He recieved This, and a six-pack of cheap hawaiian shirts from the students on his dig. The kind that one gets at Costco/warehouse type stores.
