Even though Wednesday is the dedicated Comic Book Day at work, yesterday was the busy day this week. (So far.)
First, I had to go to Best Buy to get my brother-in-law a birthday present and to pick up Weird Al's new CD. Funny stuff! A few co-workers and I went to Best Buy to pick it up during lunch and listened to it on the way back. I haven't really watched the videos on the DVD side of the disk yet.
When I got back to work, I was attacked by vampires! Actually they were day-walkers in Red Cross and Life Blood uniforms, and they didn't really attack me other than mentally with their persuasive words. I escaped with only a pint of blood missing. I did get a sports chair and two t-shirts out of the ordeal. Not to mention ice cream! At least they were hospitable vampires.
After work, it was time to go to the Mid-South Fair. Beth wanted to go see Blake Shelton, so we went. It was a strange feeling at the fair. The normal stuff was there except that the stage for the concert was set up in a section of the parking lot where one of the fairgrounds buildings was located before it mysteriously burned. Then on the other side of the fairgrounds, the gates to Liberty Land stood solidly closed and dark. It just isn't the same with Memphis's theme park vacant. Slowly but surely, the Memphis mayor is going to have his way and the fair grounds will be erased entirely. I'm surprised they haven't torn down the Liberty Bowl yet.
I sure didn't want to get up this morning to come to work, but the thought of going to the comic store persuaded me.
