Oppugno 003 - [Accidental Video]

[weredaddy]

[The video is dark, but after a moment, the back of a figure can be seen in the moonlight, huddled in a blanket as he looks up at the sky.

One of the moons is full.

And after a second, the man sighs and throws his head back, for once not turning into the monster he fears most.]

[ Tonks thinks she is doing a pretty good job in being quiet. That is until she gets halfway up the hill to where Remus is sitting and she trips over an exposed root. Boom! Down goes the Tonks! ]

Bugger...

[He hears that tumble. Quickly, Remus goes to her rescue and (making sure not to trip over that same root) helps her up.]

You shouldn't be out in the dark, Dora...

[ She lets him help her up. ]

Well, I could say the same thing about you. I could, mind you, but I won't.

[ Tonks lets out a breath. ]

Are you alright?

...Touche.

[He starts to walk back up the hill, one hand holding hers to give her some balance.]

Yeah, I'm...

[He sighs.]

It's strange.

[ Tonks accepts his hand and starts back up the hill. ]

This place is strange Remus.

[ She knows that's not quite what he means. Tonks looks up at the clear sky, at the full moon. She gives Remus' hand a squeeze. ]

How long has it been?

[Once they reach the top of the hill, he picks up the blanket and wraps it around her, before sitting down and taking her hand again.

But he doesn't answer right away, her question bringing to mind that night when his life changed. He never thought about it too much, but...occasionally he could dwell on it.

Still, Remus shook his head slightly, bringing himself back to the present.]

Thirty years.

[ Tonks adjusts the blanket so they can share it. It's cozier with two anyway. ]

D'you need to talk about it?

[ She's since stopped looking at the moon and is now focusing on him. Maybe he didn't want to talk about it or need to but she is going to offer just the same. ]

[Snuggle, snuggle.]

...I've become more used to hiding away than being able to do this.

[He buries his face in the space where her shoulder meets her neck, speaking quietly.]

I don't know how to be normal anymore. I don't know how to enjoy it.

[ Tonks leans in closer, her temple meeting the top of his head. ]

I can't say that this week has been easy Remus but I think it has one or two benefits.

[ Such as realizing just how dependent they were on magic and getting to sit under the light of the moon. ]

You shouldn't try to so hard, I think. We're sitting together, wrapped in a blanket, underneath the stars. The only difference is the full moon is out. I know, I know. The difference is the biggest thing in the world to you but maybe you're focusing too much? Maybe you should should just try to be in the moment? That's what I do.

[ Tonks misses her child, her Teddy. Her actions since arriving in this weird dimension have shown it. She's been cleaning, Muggle cleaning, to keep her mind off of things and to keep her busy.

She would give him all the 'normal' moments she could. Tonks carefully pulls away from Remus with a small smile. She then stands and turns back to him. There is a small smile on her face as she extends right hand towards him. ]

May I have this dance?

[He knows what she's saying is true, and he is trying to move on, at least for as long as this all lasts, but something so detrimental to his life, what made his life the way it is, is impossible to move on from in a few days' time.

And it's pointless to argue with Tonks over that. To her, he's what she wants. Remus can't push that away, not again.

But that hand and invitation is sudden and he's not quite sure what to do at first. This is hardly the time or place for such frivolity!]

...Dora?

[ Her face falls when she sees the look on his face. ]

I'm not asking you to move on. I'm just asking you to try to be in the moment. Please.

[ She still has her hand out. It is the perfect time for such frivolity! ]

I'd really like a dance with my husband.

[He takes her words into consideration, watching her face for a moment and then...

He sighs.

And takes her hand.]

And what kind of music is in your head tonight, my dear?

[ Tonks smiles. Don't argue with her Remus. You need this bit of silliness and so does she. ]

Something slow, I think. I'd like to enjoy the moment.

[ And it wouldn't be so enjoyable if she steps on his toes. ]

Then slow it is.

[And he assumes the position!]

[ After a few moments, she rests her head on his shoulder. It's a nice little moment. She doesn't step on his toes or anything.

It's after they've shared a dance or two, that Tonks pulls back with a smile. ]

I love you Remus.

[ She stands up on her tip toes and gives him a quick kiss on the cheek. ]

I'm going to go back to the house. D'you need some more time out here?

[ Whatever he decides is fine with her. ]

[Her smile is contagious and he can never resist returning it.]

I love you, too.

[And while she may think a kiss on the cheek is acceptable, Remus has other plans. So when she's finished speaking, he leans down to press a kiss to her lips, lingering just a few moments.]
