Another space faring anniversary
It just occurred to me.... Yesterday (May 5th for those playing the home game) marked the 47th anniversary of the United States' first man in space. That day in 1961 (if memory serves right) Alan B. Shepard Jr. became the first American in space, spending 15 minutes in space aboard Mercury's Freedom 7 space capsule and thus (more or less) officially kicking off the space race. Yep...more from the space geek. :P
