I made a vet appointment for Fish yesterday, and when I told the receptionist his name, she asked, "is that spelled with an F or a PH?"  That kinda made my evening.

Just realized I never posted anything about QPOCC.  I volunteered at the annual Queer People of Color Conference, which was hosted by UC Davis this year.  It was a blast.  I went to the bisexual "closed space" caucus, which was basically a group discussion about bi-specific issues.  It especially felt good to hear thoughts and concerns I've only heard from myself echoed by other people, and there were "aha, you too?" moments from nearly everyone, even though I didn't share in all of them.

One thing that didn't come up, but is something I dwell on, is: why do I care?  I really don't have a desire to meet up and talk about common life experiences with other left-handed people, or female programmers, or the other "special" categories I fit into.  I'm not sure what's so interesting about being bi that I'm drawn to spaces like that caucus.  Anyone else feel the same about some group you fit into?
