Five time Jaejoong wished life was a Korean Drama and One time he was glad it wasn't….

1.

Their first meeting had been far too ordinary. New trainees coming into a large company, each full of hopes and dreams, each intimidated by the talents of others but sure of their own futures.

"Hi, I'm Jung Yunho."

"Hey, I'm Kim Jaejoong."

"How old are you?"

"Born in 1986."

"Hey me too, what month?"

"January."

"February, guess you're older than me, hyung."

They smiled at each other and went their own ways, already having other friends.

From that first meeting, Jaejoong couldn't tell that Jung Yunho would become one of the most important people in his life. Time should have slowed down as they stared into each other's eyes and realized that this person was different, this person was special. Some slow background music about love and it's hardships should have come up but the closest to that was when someone's cellphone rang as Yunho walked away.

2.

The day Jaejoong realized he had fallen in love with his friend had been a grueling and tiring day. They had just completed several hours of dance training and they still had vocal training later that evening followed by more dance training.

"Yunho-yah," Jaejoong said suddenly as the other boy walked next to him.

"Hm?" Yunho hummed, taking a drink of water.

"I love you," Jaejoong confessed rather straightforwardly. He heard Kangin cough behind them and Heechul snicker oh-so-obviously.

"I love you too hyung," Yunho replied, downing the rest of his water bottle.

Jaejoong felt his heart skip a beat.

"Of course I love you two as well," Yunho called behind them to the other two members of their tentative group.

Jaejoong felt his heart drop.

The four continued down the street to grab lunch as though nothing changed. But it should have started raining. The sky should have darkened and the pitiful sad love song should have been playing. There should have been a slow scene in which Yunho realizes something felt strange and off about Jaejoong. Of course, that doesn't happen as Yunho continues walking and they have instant noodles for lunch.

3.

The day Jaejoong kisses Yunho was a year before their debut. They had just finished a day of training and lacked the energy to do much else but sleep.

Changmin had somehow taken up Jaejoong's bed and Junsu was snuggled up against Yoochun in the other. Jaejoong looked into his shared room with Yoochun and decided he didn't want to fight their youngest for his rightful bed. So he tramples into Yunho's room with the pillow he yanked from under Changmin.

"Yunho-yah, let me sleep in your room tonight," Jaejoong yawned as he got into one of the beds and snuggled under the covers. He fell asleep promptly and didn't move the entire night.

It wasn't until morning that he awoke to a warm something wrapped around him. Struggling to turn around, he finds himself a little too close to a certain Jung Yunho. The younger's breath tickled Jaejoong's cheek and Jaejoong felt those arms adjust to his new position.

Jaejoong smothered a chuckle and gathered up all the courage he had for the whole year. It was an sudden and impulsive thing. He leaned slightly up and pressed their lips together.

There was silence as Jaejoong just breathed and felt the other's warms lips on his. He didn't move but his heart speed up to the point he felt like he were hyperventilating. In a Korean drama, this moment would have been dragged out in any way possible, changing angles and slowing down the film. There would have been a extreme close up of his eye then one of Yunho's. This could have been a cliffhanger moment in which Yunho would wake up to see their odd predicament. This could have been when Jaejoong hurried away and the camera shows Yunho waking up and touching his lips, having been awake the whole time.

But none of these happen. Yunho keeps sleeping and Jaejoong gets up. From the cracked open bedroom door, Jaejoong watches Yunho until the other gets up an hour later.

4.

The day Yunho realizes he loves Jaejoong too had been two years after their debut. They were on an hour break before a music show performance. Lounging around in the van, each member was engrossed in their own activities. Yoochun was sleeping, Junsu was playing some cell phone game, Changmin was eating a snack, Jaejoong was listening to music and Yunho was deep in thought.

"Hey Jaejoong-hyung," Yunho said, tugging their lead vocalist gently.

"Hn?" Jaejoong hummed, tugging out one of his earphones.

"Hyung," Yunho said softly. So much that Jaejoong pulled out the other one to hear the younger better. "I…I think I love you."

"Eh?" Jaejoong questioned instinctively. He's been waiting to hear those words for years. To suddenly hear them was unexpected and surprising. However, Yunho seemed to take it differently.

"Sorry, just forget it," Yunho mumbles, turning away in his seat.

"Wah, wait, wait, wait!" Jaejoong sputtered quickly, grabbing onto Yunho retreating hand. The action seemed to catch the attention of the two dongseng who were awake. They watched the eldest pair curiously but silently. "I was just surprised!"

Yunho looked at Jaejoong blankly.

Jaejoong moved closer to the younger man and said softly, "I…I love you too."

If this had been a drama, a love song would have began as the new budding love flowered right there. They should have stared into each other's eyes and felt nothing but the other's heart beat. It should have been a romantic moment where Jung Yunho and Kim Jaejoong realized that this was love.

Of course that didn't happen.

Changmin snorts and mutters something that sounded suspiciously like 'I knew it' while Junsu emitted a high pitch squeak of surprise. The sudden high note woke up Yoochun who was suddenly ambushed by Junsu demanding to know whether the other Soulmate knew. From there things got loud as Yoochun yelled out his congratulations and Junsu reprimanded them for keeping it a secret. Changmin just gave random side comment between each bite of food.

Their relationship started in a crowded van with every member screaming something and the manager finally coming in to investigate the noise. In all, it hadn't been a very romantic confession.

But the next day, during an interview, Yunho called him 'Jaejoongie' for the first time and never called him hyung again.

5.

The day Jaejoong realizes he was actually leaving SMEnt, TVXQ and Yunho had been a heartbreaking one. He spent the day packing up his things into boxes that would be sent out tomorrow and forever. The company pretty much kept them from talking or even seeing each other. It was hard since they lived together but SM worked hard to achieve it.

"Goodbye," had been Changmin's only words. The sight of their youngest so thoroughly depressed spoke volumes more than that simple goodbye could ever have.

"Remember not to eat too many midnight snacks, Changmin-ah," Jaejoong hears himself saying. "Do take care of your skin more. You're a handsome guy, but do preserve it. Remember not to work out for too long without hydrating. You were always bad at remembering that. Before you sleep remember to…"

He kept talking even though the sound of footsteps indicated the younger man had long walked away. For some reason, Jaejoong knows that if he stopped, the tears would come. He had already cried all night with Yoochun and he needed to appear strong for his two dongseng who were making the most career changing decision of their lives.

"…and take care of Yunho. He may be older than you, but he can't even cook himself noodles without burning the water first," Jaejoong chuckles.

"I can," Yunho's voice cut off the other's ramblings. Jaejoong looks up to see the younger man leaning against the doorway.

Jaejoong makes an expression, something between smiling and biting his lip to keep in the tears. This would be the first time he talked to Yunho in weeks.

"Are you really going to leave?" Yunho asks, his expression completely blank.

"Yeah," Jaejoong whispers.

Yunho says nothing and walks away.

And if this had been a drama, Jaejoong would have felt something wrong. He would have realized that this would be their last conversation for years. If this had been a drama, maybe Jaejoong would have grabbed Yunho and kissed the younger senseless. If this had been a drama, maybe the next morning when his car drove away, Yunho would have come running after him and Jaejoong would have stopped for him and they would have kissed in the middle of the road, knowing that somehow everything would be alright.

But nothing of the sort happened.

Jaejoong drove away from their shared apartment and no one bothered coming out to say goodbye. And he wouldn't see Jung Yunho for the next few years.

+1

The day Jaejoong got a text from an anonymous number he had been in the airport, waiting for a flight to Japan. JYJ finally broke the ban in Japan and they were going on the first Japanese music show in years. It had been exciting enough that they managed to release a Japanese single with no problems, but to have a music show ask them to perform had brought tears to Jaejoong's eyes. The next best thing would to perform in Korea.

Under the usual place. I'll wait until the flight leaves.

Jaejoong stared at the text and deleted it without a second thought. He still got loads of random texts from, well, loads of random people. All of their fans probably knew their flight time and destination. It wasn't worth over thinking

So he sat there, wondering how long Junsu and Yoochun would walk around an airport they've visited hundreds, maybe even thousands, of times.

Maybe it was out of a whim or maybe he was just bored out of his mind, but Jaejoong took out his old phone and shifted through his old text messages. Some of them had been one sided nagging from Jaejoong to one of their five members. Some of them had been strange little conversations that Jaejoong no longer remembers why they were funny. Some of them had been just short messages from one member to another.

From: My lovely Yunho <3

Love you~ ^^

T T it's so crowded here…

Under the usual place? Don't let Changmin follow you this time…

Jaejoong stared at the message. 'Under the usual place', it said. His heart rated accelerated until all he could hear was the thundering of his heart beat. Check-in was in five minutes and the plane was scheduled to leave in twenty. He jumped up, startling his poor manager, and ran.

From somewhere in the back of his mind, his brain computed the voice of his manager yelling for him, asking where the hell he was going. A rational part of his brain was also yelling that too. Where was Jaejoong going? What was he expecting?

Jaejoong ran to the last terminal that was hardly in use with an odd corner that hide any occupants from most people. If someone wasn't looking for anyone, they would probably not see it at all. It had been their hide out. A place they came to just to escape from their members, managers, and sometimes even from each other. He skidded to a stop and took a deep breath.

If this were a Korean drama, he would run to the appointed spot just as the other walked off. They would miss each other barely, separated by a moving mass of people or something equally stupid. Either that or Jaejoong would dawdle and the other would get cold feet. A sad, sad love song would play in the background as they walked inadvertently from each other.

But life wasn't a Korean drama.

Jaejoong rounded the corner and there he was, sitting on the padded plastic chair. It wasn't a magical moment. They stared at each other for a moment.  Jung Yunho had his earbud plugged in, foot tapping-to the song or just in nervousness, and his hands fidgeted with the music player. The younger man's face looked nonchalant, but his body language gave away his anticipation and worry. Slowly, Yunho pulled out his earbuds and they hung off his shoulders to the side.

"Hi," Yunho said finally.

"Hello," Jaejoong replies. He tries really hard not to laugh. It was an odd predicament they found themselves in. Friends, brothers and lovers, they went through all the phases and yet here they were awkwardly addressing each other as though they've just met for the first time.

If this were a Korean drama, they would have run into each others arms with tears staining their cheeks. If this were a Korean drama, they might have started fighting and someone might have leave in their rage, letting the other chase them down. If this were a Korean drama, a series of odd and comedic events might happen until they wouldn't know what to do but laugh.

But life wasn't a Korean drama.

"You'll be late for your flight," Yunho says gently.

"Ah, that's right," Jaejoong replies. "I guess…I guess I should go then."

"Yeah, you should go," Yunho echoes.

Jaejoong gives Yunho a shy smile and the other man returns it with one of his own. He begins walking backwards slowly, reluctant to take his eyes off of Yunho's. Jaejoong almost walks into the awkward wall that hides their private corner and Yunho laughs. Yunho smiles playfully and Jaejoong feels like it's the beginning again.

Jaejoong ends up running off with a half spoken goodbye. He had ten minutes before his flight is scheduled to leave.

If this were a Korean drama, Jaejoong would have missed his flight. Yunho would have pulled him back and refused to let him leave. Jaejoong would have stayed and refused to leave. They would have held hands and whispered sweet nothings in each other's ear. If this were Korean drama, Kim Jaejoong and Jung Yunho would have kissed.

But life wasn't a Korean drama.

Jaejoong boards his flight and Yunho leaves the airport quietly.

---

"Where did you go hyung?" Yoochun asks from across the isle. "The manager was going nuts."

"Nothing, I just wanted to check something," Jaejoong responds with a secretive smile that hinted they'd talk later.

"Uh-huh," Junsu hums with a raised eyebrow that said they'd talk later too. Jaejoong just laughs quietly.

Just as Jaejoong moves to turn off his cellphone for the short flight, he receives a text.

I hope things go well in Japan.

And Jaejoong saves the number under My lovely <3.

If this were a Korean drama, things would have ended and the viewers would have raged. But life wasn't a Korean drama. It goes on and so does Kim Jaejoong and Jung Yunho's love story.

A/N: Some fluff before I go on my long break. I'm probably going to be gone until....the second week of June. So many things are going on in real life. Oh, on a happier note!  I might be able to see Junsu's Shanghai concert in July!!!  That would be amazing @_@ Especially with the teasers I've been seeing? God, I want to see that piece of hotness on stage...-FANGIRLS-

But first, gotta get through the next five to six weeks of pure work, work and more work.

:) Hope you enjoyed!

fic, fluff, one-shot, yunjae
