Why do so many people react after only hearing one side of the story? Is it out of loyalty? Is the one side they hear the only one that they truly care about, regardless of the other. Is it just naivity? Is it trust, misplaced or not? Or do we just love conflict? How many times have you reacted immediately to someone's explanation of a situation knowing damn well that there was probably a perfectly rational reason that the offender did what they did? God, we feed off of conflict. It gives us meaning. It seperates us into two groups; the ones in conflict and the ones placing judgement. Neutrality is nothing more than a word. An impossibility. Maybe we condemn others to protect ourselves. To ensure that when we inevitably fuck up we wont be isolated. We can't be, because we've already made sure that everyone else has walked down the very same road before us, whether they deserved to or not. I am guilty of the same thing and I know this, but come on people! Stop being so judgemental, it's getting us no where. I appologize to all the people that I condemned without hearing their side of the story. I had no idea that I was committing such a monumental crime. You deserved to have me hear your side of the story and yet I was in too much of a hurry to condemn you to do you justice. From this point on, I am going to make a serious attempt to be more objective. If no one wants to do the same, that is entirely fine. I'm sure its an excercise in futility but I am going to try.
