This is precious! Love the way Sarah's trying to stay strong, but can't help the vulnerability seeping through... And Casey's understanding of what she's feeling, how she sees herself, how her own personality that craves the normal is also what would probably keep her from truly being happy with normal. Great interaction between the two.
"He wasn’t going to offer her a marriage, or a family, or hell, even a true relationship. He wasn’t built for that type of thing... " Love that whole section. Bravo!
Yay! You know, I had reservations about writing this pairing, but turns out, they're a lot of fun to write together. They just have this bond, this understanding that no one else in the world can touch. And when one of them is weak, the other is the only one that can truly help. Anyway, I'm glad you liked it! =)
Nice little ficlet, good ficlet (pets it until it purrs like a cat). Sweet little interaction between our favorite spies, this probably as 'normal' as their lives get.
True, they can't have normal, but the bond they share as partners...one of real understanding, is one that very few people get to experience, so in that, they're fortunate. Glad you dug it! =)
As much as I am a Jellie-shipper, I can see that this would be totally realistic with-in the confines of the show.
Who else could possible understand what their lives are really like, and truly understand and not judge them for what they do.
In season one, John tells Sarah not to get any ideas because he wasn't interested. Maybe he was just trying to convince himself ... and all the protesting he does over her "feelings" for Chuck could be coming from a much more personal place.
Anyway, this was really great and hope you decide to keep writing this pair as you've done it with smashing success.
Yay! I'm glad you dug it. And you're exactly right. Even if Casey *did* have feelings for Sarah, he would have been trying to hid them however he could.
And I don't know, I'm considering perhaps continuing along this storyline, with Casey and Sarah trying to feel out how to pursue their newly realized feelings for one another. Oh, and it would probably get a little hotter, hahaha.
I'm always saddened by the lack of Casey/Sarah (not necessarily in a romantic relationship, but fic that focuses on those characters and their dynamic) so I get super excited when I see it. I love the way you wrote Casey's honesty, and if this were to ever happen, this is how I think it would go down. I really wish the show would focus a bit more on the Casey and Sarah moments--but then again, it is called Chuck, so you know...
Hey, I'm really glad you dug it. I couldn't agree more, as far as wanting to see more of the partners dynamic between Casey and Sarah. It's totally unique, and fun, and I think the show would be better for showing more of them together, interacting, and being snarky with each other, haha.
