I bet it's because I'm boring

I haven't written an entry in quite a while, but that's probably because it's been so... routine. My day usually involves spending a ton of time at work and usually a little devoted to school in the early mornings or late evenings. When school and work are over, I find some way of going out with friends, mostly to help myself unwind from all the happenings during the day. Lather, rinse, repeat.

For those who didn't know, my mom's gonna be selling the house within the next year sometime and moving to a condo. Our family's owned that place since it was built back in '17, and we have accumulated a MASSIVE amount of crap. I've gone over a few times for several hours to root through boxes in our 100 degree attic. I'd run into things from all throughout my years at the house--things I used to think I'd want to keep forever. After the two years I've spent here at Tech though, I realized how much I don't want them, since they're not really necessities and I've managed to go long enough without them. With that mindset, I wind up declaring nearly all of my old possessions "junk" and tossing them aside. It amazes me to really see how much I managed to build up in those 18 years.

I thought it would be sad to clean all that out and see my mother preparing to leave the place that not only I, but she spent her entire life in, but I've been pretty indifferent. Living in France, in Hackensack, and in various dorms and apartments here at school, I think I've reached a point where I don't grow attached to a particular place anymore. I still get the cozy, carefree feeling I'm used to when I go in that house, but somehow, I don't think I'll really miss it when it's gone.

I spent this past weekend in Minnesota, chillin' with old friends from Lac du Bois. I got there Thursday and chilled with Shlow all night and saw Pirates of the Caribbean at midnight. The next day, she and I got up stupid early to meet up with Sarah, and the three of us drove 5 hours north to go International Day. I'm too lazy to post pictures anywhere else, but the album is on facebook here. Another five hours south, and then I just had a really chill couple of days, hangin' out with Sarah.

Oh yeah. The World Cup. Definitely the most frustrating soccer match I've ever watched. I can't believe it came down to penalty kicks. And Zidane is a dumbass. This is what really happened.

I keep coming up with things I want to write in here, but then when I have time, I can never think of them. À la prochaine alors...
